Wow, it’s been a while since my last post. In short, my trip to Taiwan was so fun! – I did a lot of eating, shopping, exploring, night-marketing, sight-seeing, and flasking. Traveling is such a great way for me to step away from reality and jump into a whole other world. Going to Asia again reminded me of my time off from work about a year ago, and all the adventures and new experiences I had during that time. It is seriously amazing what some time off to recharge can do for you. During my time off, I literally did everything and anything I wanted – how often can we say that we do that? – I worked out everyday, enjoyed the outdoors, traveled, joined MDT, and eventually started this blog. This blog is very dear to me because one, it is a reminder of all those great memories and that mindset I created for myself about a year+ ago and two, it’s opened up doors to meet and collaborate with some awesome friends. For this shoot, Steph Dong did such a beautiful job on my makeup and Lisha Wang, as always, killed it behind the camera. I hope ya’ll take some time to check out their work linked here and here.
About a year ago, I spent a month exploring Thailand – it was an amazing experience that I still dream about today. Since then, I’ve had the travel bug and have been itching for another adventure. Luckily for me, time has been flying – especially with work and all – and this week has finally come! In a few days, I’ll be in Taiwan for the first time, exploring Taipei, eating lamb skewers and drinking Boba. In preparation for my trip, I’ve been doing a bit of planning and also packing. I’m usually a heavy packer, but for this trip, since we’ll be hopping from city to city, I’ve decided to pack just the essentials. Here, I’ve featured my Day 1 outfit: a basic crop with white jeans and my most comfortable flats by Cole Haan. I’ll also be bringing along my handy dandy leather backpack by Marc Jacobs to hold a Cavallini travel notepad, my prescription sunglasses (cuz I’m an old lady), my favorite Tory Burch wallet, and my super stylish flasks by Flasking (yes – this is very essential), amongst other things. The backpack is great because I’ll be able to carry my goodies and have free hands for eating food at the night markets. =) Anyhoo, enough about me – let me know about your upcoming travels/cool trips in the comment box below. Would love to hear! Thanks for reading. =)
**Huge thanks to Flasking for these beautiful flasks – I’m beyond excited to use them on my trip. They’re intricately designed, super portable and surprisingly suit well as a fashion accessory for a night-out. When you have a chance check out Flasking and their unique and limited-edition flasks, handcrafted by artists. A couple more of my favorites are here and here. =)

Decided to change things up a bit and collaborate with some really awesome people for an in studio shoot! This shoot was inspired by the GAP “Make Love” campaign. We wanted to keep a similar clean and classic look and feel. At first I was a little nervous, but it ended up being a blast. Can’t wait to do more shoots like this!
Keeping it casual at work. Love this crinkly J.Crew button-up – could totally pair it w white jeans, pumps and a statement necklace. Instead, I chose to wear it with one of my fave eyelet skirts, which I bought from Banana Republic Outlets on my way back to the Bay. Added a pop of color with orangey-red clutch.
Jacket: Bar III, Belt: Banana Republic, Skirt: Banana Republic, Heels: Nine West, Earrings & Rings: Thanks RocksBox!
Spent the day exploring downtown Oakland for the first time – it was a mixture of a lot of old and a lot of new. Stopped by a cute cafe called Tierra Mia – definitely going back again – had such a cool vibe and their Vanilla Honey Tea Latte was so delish. Decided to sport one of my favorite jackets with today’s outfit – the details, the shape and color all make it so versatile. I pair it w ripped jeans on casual days, and sometimes wear it a lacy dress to add a little edge. Here, I went for a more classy look.
Prélude’s Nuisette is truly a wardrobe essential for all women. Not only is it versatile for day- and night-wear, but also, its simple design is very form flattering and can easily be styled into several cute looks. Also, thanks to the use of GOTS certified cotton that’s almost twice as thick as typical sleepwear, the cotton is durable, and will become softer with every wash (hallelujah!).
Most importantly, though, Prélude’s Nuisette is made of 100% organic cotton (made in USA). This means that the cotton is grown in a way that uses methods and materials that lessen the impact on our environment. Organic cotton production also uses less pesticides, insecticides, Genetically Modified Organisms and other toxins that are harmful for the wildlife eco-systems, the farmers and workers and us, the consumers.
Luckily for us, we can change what we wear and choose more sustainable options. Please take the opportunity to support a pioneer in the organic cotton movement – See the link below and pre-order Préludehere!
